Created in 1984, HDAC is a non-profit organization which promotes, educates and advocates on behalf of the heavy duty aftermarket industry in Canada. HDAC represents members who are primarily engaged in the distribution and sale of heavy duty truck and trailer parts in Canada, Warehouse Distributors, and members who are in the business of manufacturing and/or supplying heavy duty truck and trailer parts to Warehouse Distributors, known as Associates.
HDAC is governed by an elected Board of Directors who are made up of both Warehouse Distributor and Associate members. Many of the board members serve on the various HDAC committees including: Audit & Finance, Events, Government Relations, Membership & Bylaws.
We engage the various levels of the Canadian government in discussions concerning policies, regulations, and taxes that relate to the heavy duty aftermarket in Canada. As an association, we are currently working as part of a coalition on the ‘Right to Repair’ agreement with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), among other things.
Professional development and industry networking
Every year, we provide our members with various means to network and learn about professional development activities as well as business growth opportunities during our annual conference. This well-attended event features industry top experts, speakers as well provides one-on-one meetings and other networking opportunities.
We produce a bi-annual Outlook Study that provides an in-depth analysis of Canadian heavy duty aftermarket industry landscape.
We partnered with a number of organizations to provide our members with exclusive discounts and benefits. More information about our member services is available here.
